I never cared much about the kneeling from the start and thought it was as overblown as these riots. Had it not been for the fact that I've seen this playbook before, I might even pay more attention to what's going on now. I'm simply not that gullible. Hopefully someone can bookmark this thread as I'm predicting over the next 4 months, in addition to racism, there will be a big fuss regarding women's rights, gun control, and immigration (it's important to get the superfecta in before the end of October). It's about as disingenuous as it comes and people fall for it every time. The biggest problem I have had for years is the Democratic Party never focuses on the quality of their candidate. Instead, it's always about character assassination. It's a formula that has worked so often for them that they think they can just continue with it. I think (and hope) that people are getting tired of that (at some point, independents really want to know why they should vote for your candidate, and saying he's not the other guy just isn't good enough). The Floyd death worked well for them, but had it not been for that, the Democrats and complicit media would have found some other race issue to chirp up. It's hard to have an intelligent conversation on the matter when so much of this nonsense is just orchestrated.
And although I think and hope that people have figured out the game plan, I am still disheartened when I get a text from a co-worker that states this....
I didn't waste my time responding to it. He's the same guy that despite all the numbers negating his arguments about the coronavirus, just kept saying he knew this "doctor" who could explain it better. For him, sensationalism, conjecture, and speculation are always more important than actual results. From my perspective, I'm not looking for reparations from something that happened over 200 years ago that no one today has anything to do with. I also don't really give a shit about the media playing up stories and trying to give the impression that racism is rampant. I don't buy it for a second and have experienced very little in my lifetime. I do know that living in this country has provided me an opportunity to prosper and am quite please with the progress I've made in my life (I guess these professional athletes don't feel that way with their multi-million dollar salaries). I'd also say that my friends are people of all different nationalities, and some of my best friends are white (can't say that I'm embarrassed by it). I have no problem with peaceful protesting. I have a big problem with violence, looting, destruction of property, and people that empower that type of behavior by donating money for bail and legal help. The Floyd death is terrible and disheartening and I don't know of anyone that doesn't think that way, so we can stop with the straw man (no, there aren't White people all over the country cheering this cop). But it doesn't give people a blank check to do what they want just because they're angry.
